MTSU honors outstanding psychology students

The Department of Psychology at MTSU will present its annual awards for outstanding students who were enrolled in the program during the 2008 academic year beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, March 26, in the Tennessee Room of the James Union Building (JUB).

The MTSU psychology students’ awards presentation will be part of the College of Education and Behavioral Science’s annual student awards presentation program. The Department of Psychology, overseen by Chairman Dennis Papini, is part of this university college, which is led by Harold “Terry” Whiteside, interim dean.

Prior to the 4 p.m. ceremony, psychology faculty will meet with student award winners beginning at 3:15 p.m. in Jones Hall to view the students’ award plaques, meet parents and take photographs.

Those Rutherford County psychology students who will receive awards at the upcoming ceremony are listed below.

• Lyndi Porter of Murfreesboro, Outstanding Graduate Assistant for the fall 2008 semester and Willard A. Kerr Award of Excellence for Outstanding Psychology Graduate Student (a $100 bond prize).

• Victoria Counts of Murfreesboro, Outstanding Graduate Research Assistant for spring 2008 semester and Outstanding Clinical Psychology Graduate Student.

• Lisa Pritchett of Murfreesboro, Outstanding Graduate Assistant for spring 2008 semester and Outstanding Experimental Psychology Graduate Student.

• Sarah Monks of Murfreesboro, Outstanding School Psychology Graduate Student Award.

• Scott Pryjmak of Murfreesboro, Willard A. Kerr Award of Excellence for Outstanding Psychology Graduate Student (a $100 bond prize).

• Jaclyn Cremisi Pritchett of Murfreesboro, Willard A. Kerr Award of Excellence for Outstanding Psychology Graduate Student (a $100 bond prize).

• Kelli Perrien of Murfreesboro, Willard A. Kerr Award of Excellence for Outstanding Psychology Undergraduate Student (a $100 bond prize).

• Tommie Smith of Murfreesboro, Willard A. Kerr Award of Excellence for Outstanding Psychology Undergraduate Student (a $100 bond prize).

• Jayna Dotson of Murfreesboro, recipient of the Elizabeth Wright Psychology Graduate Student Award ($300 prize).
