Several armed subjects who were wearing ski mask alarmed residents in Murfreesboro on Tuesday night.

Sgt. Kyle Evans with the Murfreesboro Police Department said at least seven to nine subjects accused in what was deemed a prank were MTSU football players.

The incident involved two separate vehicles. After police were alerted, the subjects were pulled over in a traffic stop and placed in custody. However, the subjects and victims said it was a joke. It was nothing more an air-soft BB gun raid. It started at Scarlett Commons on the campus of MTSU and was a retaliation prank.

The subjects were released and will not be charged. The football players’ names were not released because they weren’t arrested.
