Middle Tennessee Medical Center received the largest single permit ever issued by the Murfreesboro’s Building and Codes Department on Tuesday, Oct. 7, according to Murfreesboro Plans Examiner Robert Holtz. MTMC received the $631,294 permit for its new hospital which is currently under construction on Medical Center Parkway.

“This is an historic event not only for MTMC but also for our community,” says Gordon B. Ferguson, MTMC president and CEO. “A project of this size could not be accomplished without the tremendous support of our city and the skills and efforts of Turner Universal construction.”

Turner Universal of Brentwood is constructing the new MTMC, which is expected to open in November 2010.

“It has given me much pride to work on a project of this size in my home town,” says Keith Merritt, Turner Universal project manager for the new MTMC. “I consider it an honor to be able to help build something that will serve the community in such a great way.”
