The Middle Tennessee Medical Center Foundation has announced Kristin Demos, Dr. Arundati Ramesh and Amy Watts as new members of its board of directors.
The MTMC Foundation’s primary purpose is to support and promote community awareness of the quality medical services provided by the hospital and to raise and manage philanthropic gifts. "Our foundation continues to grow and we're honored to have these dedicated individuals join us as board members. As we work to finish the campaign for the new facility and build funds that support the mission of MTMC, we know they will prove to be a tremendous asset," said Jeff Lea, executive director of the MTMC Foundation. Demos received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from MTSU and is the director of social media marketing for Demos’ Restaurants, a family-owned business.
She currently serves as the president of Junior League of Murfreesboro and she serves on the board of directors for United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties, the Child Advocacy Center of Rutherford County, Leadership Rutherford and the Linebaugh Library Foundation.
Demos and her husband Peter have two children, Karys, 6, and Jamey, 8. Dr. Ramesh joined the MTMC medical staff in 2005.
She received her medical degree at Bangalore University and completed her internship in general surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Ramesh completed her residency in internal medicine at New York Methodist Hospital, where she later also completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine.
She is married to Dr. Ramesh Gowda, a vascular surgeon and member of MTMC’s medical staff. Watts has been a Murfreesboro resident since 1986.
She graduated from Riverdale High School and MTSU, where she received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education.
She has taught in the Rutherford and Sumner County school systems and is a substitute teacher at St. Rose of Lima School.
Watts works in her family’s business, Medical Mobility, Inc., in the advertising and marketing department.
She and her husband Keith have one son, Sawyer, and are members of St. Rose Catholic Church. The MTMC Foundation was established in 1984 and currently has 27 board members.
