On Oct. 2, Middle Tennessee Medical Center will leave behind the building where it has served Murfreesboro since 1927 and open at its new location on Medical Center Parkway.
In an effort to honor the legacy of MTMC, stories, photos, documents and memorabilia of the hospital are being gathered for a commemorative book.
“As we look to the future of the new MTMC, it is important to remember all that has been accomplished throughout MTMC’s 83-year history,” MTMC public relations coordinator Erin Yeldell said. “This work is about much more than bricks and mortar. Its focus is on the many people who came through the doors of MTMC as patients, physicians, nurses, associates and family since the doors opened in1927 as the Rutherford Hospital.”
If you have history to share, contact Yeldell at 615-396-4959 or erin.yeldell@mtmc.org by Feb. 19.
Examples of items include: stories, photos, post cards, letters, old paycheck stubs, medical labels, newspaper clippings, magazine articles, old hospital bills, T-shirts, old medical equipment, cards, personal notes, old keepsakes from hospital events – menus, programs, copies of remarks or speeches, advertisements, business cards, brochures.
All keepsakes submitted for the book will be returned.
