MTMC President and Chief Executive Officer Gordon B. Ferguson and Vice President of Support Services Rodger Klein have received top awards for their leadership in health care.
Ferguson was named a Health Care Hero of 2010 by the Nashville Business Journal, in the community leader category.
The award honors Middle Tennessee professionals who have had an impact on the both the health care industry and their community.
Ferguson has served as MTMC’s president and CEO since 2006 and in 2009 was named one of Business Tennessee Magazine’s top 25 hospital operators in Tennessee.
He serves on the board of directors for United Way of Rutherford County and Business Education Partnership, and he is a member of noon Rotary, graduate of Leadership Rutherford and Chairman-Elect for the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Klein has received the senior-level health care executive award from the American College of Health care Executives.
The award honors Klein for his support and commitment to the college and health care in Tennessee.
He is a long-time health care executive, having started his career with HCA in 1976.
Prior to joining MTMC, Klein most recently served as the chief operating officer at Williamson Medical Center in Franklin.
In addition to overseeing MTMC’s support services, Klein also oversaw the recent transition to MTMC’s new hospital and works with MTMC’s development partner, Southeast Ventures, in the disposition of its old campus.
Ferguson and Klein are each Fellows in the American College of Health care Executives and past presidents of the Health care Executives Forum of Middle Tennessee.
Ferguson and his wife Cindy and two sons live in Murfreesboro and attend First United Methodist Church. Klein and his wife Cherry live in Franklin and have one grown daughter. |
