MTEMC offers online audit to save members cash and energy

Free energy kit to audit participants.
Middle Tennessee Electric and the Tennessee Valley Authority are offering an energy savings promotion that hopes to conserve energy and lower members’ monthly bills.

The promotion allows members to go online and fill out a simple home energy audit.

“The online survey helps you understand the overall energy useage and costs of your home,” MTEMC Residential Marketing Supervisor Tom Moreland said. “It also helps you identify specific actions to reduce energy bills.”

Interested members can go to MTEMC’s Web site at www.mtemc.com and select “Home Energy Audit” under the “Hot Topics” section of the home page. After completing the audit and submitting the results, a free conservation kit will be mailed to participating members from TVA.

The conservation kit includes two compact fluorescent light bulbs, a hot-water temperature gauge, a “How to Save” brochure, outlet and light switch gaskets and several other items with a letter explaining the contents.

The online energy audit promotion ends June 30.
