Senior Clara Leathers shot an even par 72 to tie for eighth at the 2010 Rebel Intercollegiate

OXFORD, Miss. - Clara Leathers continued her impressive spring in the opening round of the 2010 Rebel Intercollegiate, but Middle Tennessee shot a 308 on the day sit at 10th in the 20-team field.
"We started poorly," said Coach Chris Adams. "The conditions were pretty windy towards the beginning, but we battled and hung tough to put together a solid finish."
The Blue Raiders finished their first nine holes 16 strokes over par, but picked it up in the last nine, shooting just four-over.
Leathers carded an even par 72 to lead the Blue Raiders and tie for eighth.
"Clara had a very steady round for us," said Adams. "I'm proud of her performance today."
Ashley Haggard tied for 33rd with a four-over 76. Morgan Hale andOlivia Love each carded an eight-over 80 to tie for 71st. Steph Gough is tied for 90th after shooting a 10-over 82.
Karisa Akin, who is competing in the event as an individual, is tied for 98th with an 11-over 83.
The Blue Raiders will continue play in Rebel Intercollegiate, which features 16 teams ranked in the top 100, tomorrow morning. Live scoring will be available at golfstat.com. |
