In honor of President’s Day, the Woodbury Senior Center has scheduled a free public performance of "Mrs. Roosevelt," a 30 minute one-act play, for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 15.

The play focuses on Eleanor Roosevelt, who served as first lady from 1933 to 1945 during her President Franklin D. Roosevelt's four terms in office.

Though widely respected in her later years, Eleanor Roosevelt was a controversial first lady for her outspokenness, particularly for her stands on racial issues.

She was the first presidential spouse to hold press conferences, write a syndicated newspaper column, and speak at a national convention. And on a few occasions, she publicly disagreed with her husband's policies.
