Officers with the Murfreesboro Police Department took children shopping Saturday at the Wal-Mart on South Rutherford Boulevard for the annual Shop With A Cop program.

“The chance to spend time with these children is priceless, but to help make their Christmas wonderful is a blessing," said Glenn Chrisman, chief of the Police Department. "I would like to thank Wal-Mart for hosting this event, as well as all of the donors and police officers who helped make Christmas possible for these young children.

Officers accompanied the children as they selected toys and clothing for their Christmas presents.

The 33 children were selected by Murfreesboro City Schools staff based on the financial situation of each family.
