An arrest was made Tuesday in connection to an alleged vehicular homicide that occurred Sunday.
Police located Alfonzo “Pancho” Angeles, 24, a suspect in the case, at 707 W. Adams St. in Lebanon. When officers approached the house Angeles reportedly jumped through a glass window and fled the residence on foot.
Angeles was located under a house at 711 Leeville Pike with multiple cuts. He was taken to University Hospital in Lebanon for treatment before being booked on suspicion of first-degree murder.
The incident took place in the parking lot of a Dippin’ Dots, 2805 Old Fort Pkwy., where witnesses say Angeles was involved in an alleged fight with the victim, Carlos Ortiz.
Following the fight, Ortiz was reportedly struck and run over by a white Ford Expedition with gold trim while walking across the parking lot.
The vehicle, with Angeles as the alleged driver, left the scene before police arrived. The vehicle was originally located at 1306 Bradyville Pike where Angeles is a resident.
Officers from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Murfreesboro Police and Lebanon Police were involved in the arrest.
