MPD reorganizes internal affairs department

MPD The Murfreesboro Police Department recently reorganized its internal affairs division and promoted officers to replace retirees and honor outstanding officers.

“These individuals have all had outstanding careers and will help lead the department in their various divisions and assignments,” Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman said.

Garry Carter was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will be responsible for conducting internal reviews and investigating citizen complaints.

Craig Snider was promoted to sergeant and will assist in internal investigations as well as handle video tape requests and coordinate off-duty employment.

Major Anita Flagg was recently promoted to division commander of the Operations Division which includes the Office of Professional Responsibility, Communications, Records, Grants, and Tennessee State Accreditation.

These promotions come after the recent retirements of Major Hiram Lester and Sergeant Eddie Peel.

The department also recently promoted Eric Cook to major and division commander of the Criminal Investigations Division and Nathan McDaniel to assist as captain of the division.

Captain – Patrol: Alan Smith
Lieutenant – Vice: William Sykes
Lieutenant – Patrol: Don Fanning
Sergeant – Vice: Hubert Jones
Sergeant – Gang Unit: Jeff Keaton
Sergeant – Patrol: Jeff Baskette
Sergeant – Patrol: Kevin Dunn
