MPD Detective Katrina Henderson honored as 2010 SAR “Officer of the Year”

On Saturday March 26, by the Stones River Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution honored Detective Katrina Henderson as the 2010 Law Enforcement Officer of the Year.

“We are proud of Detective Henderson’s recognition by the Sons of the American Revolution and of the outstanding work she does in the Criminal Investigation Division. We congratulate Detective Henderson on being selected for this award,” Chief of Police Glenn Chrisman said.

Henderson was nominated for a variety of reasons but most notably for her dedication and team spirit in the Criminal Investigation Division.

Working on the Crime Scene Investigation Team, she assists every other detective in the CID in addition to working her own case assignments.

One recent case involved the investigation of a tobacco store robbery. Henderson investigated the case, developed a suspect, obtained evidence including a confession, and linked him to other robberies in Shelbyville and Tullahoma.

Also honored at the event were Murfreesboro Fire Department Assistant Fire Marshall Carl Peas, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services Director Mike Nunle and Mike Phillips, retired from the Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services.
