Yet another Murfreesboro man has been arrested for allegedly sexually abusing children.
Stephen P. Massengill, of Old Lebanon Road, was arrested by Murfreesboro Police Friday for allegedly raping his girlfriend’s 8-year-old daughter and allegedly fondling her 4-year-old daughter.
MPD spoke with the girls’ mother, Nicole L. Cadorette, 29, of South Church Street.
She became very defensive and uncooperative when confronted with the Department of Children’s Services allegations. She then threatened to take her children and leave the state.
Cadorette was subsequently charged with failure to protect her children and possession of drug paraphernalia.
An investigation to the DCS referral revealed Massengill, with the mother’s knowledge, would lay in bed with the girls while babysitting them. He admitted to rubbing the 4-year-old girl in her genital area on two occasions and to “sexually penetrating” the 8-year-old girl.
Carorette was allegedly informed of the incidents and did not report the abuse.
Massengill was charged with rape of a child and two counts of aggravated sexual battery of a child under 13 years old.
His bond was set at $90,000 and is scheduled to appear in court June 9. Cadorette bond was set at $12,500 and is scheduled to appear in court June 9.
