I live in this area and this seems to be such a dangerous intersection. While I do not have the statistics, it seems that there is an accident there quite frequently. Is there a threshold for accidents that will trigger a redesign of the lights (turning arrows during high traffic times)? This is such a tragedy for everyone involved.

That intersection has lights and turn lanes.

This accident could have occurred at most any intersection in Mboro. I notice the article does not indicate what time of day the accident occurred, or whether if the motorcycle was speeding at the time of the accident, or the type of motorcycle. As an avid motorcycle rider, I witnessed far too many individuals with "crotch rockets" speeding in our streets. But in the long run, those operating motorcycles need to be excessively defensive when driving. I always assume a car is going to do something stupid at an intersection and formulate a plan of action to take if needed. I hope the DNJ will followup on this accident once more facts are known.

Lupusman, It reads that the car pulled in front of the motorcycle .Any life loss on 2 wheels is terriable no matter what the facts are . As a "Avid" motorcycle rider you should know better than use the term " Crotch Rocket " . As you should know from the AMA it send the wrong message to the masses. Last time I checked , the insurance on my ducati reads " Sport Bike " .

Please JustZAguy,I believe the term 'Crotch Rockets'used by lupusman refers to people who drive motorbikes like bats out of hell..... not the bike itself and I'll be willing to bet just about everyone has seen someone driving one at a very excessive speed...when they, the motorbike rider, should be doubly cautious considering how dangerous motorbikes are to begin with...now with that being said, I do not know all the details surrounding this accident...but I was told by EMS personnel that he was driving at an excessive speed when this accident occured.....

The matter at hand is a life was lost. He was a father, brother, and a son. God be with this family in their time of need.
