More travelers excpeted this fourth of July weekend

AAA Travel projects 41 million Americans will journey 50 miles or more from home during the July 4th holiday weekend. That would be a 1.9 percent increase from the 40.3 million who traveled last year. The majority of travelers will be celebrating with a road trip, with more than eight in ten choosing to travel by automobile.

In Murfreesboro, some residents may decide to overindulge in adult beverages.  The Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint.

Again, that checkpoint will be in Murfreesboro on Broad Street one mile East of State Route 840. That is near Bumpus Harley Davidson.  

The Independence Day travel period is defined as Wednesday, July 2nd to Sunday, July 6th. In Tennessee, more than 742,000 people are projected to travel by car during the holiday weekend.
