Mollie Brock Young, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2013.
She was born in Decatur Coounty, Ga. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in Decatur County and attended Mt. St. Agnes College in Mt. Washington, Md. Mollie graduated from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Atlanta as a registered nurse. She retired from the Alvin C. York VA Hospital after 36½ years and was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lottie and Homer Brock; husband, Andrew Martin Young; brother, Eugene Brock, Carey Brock, Grady Brock, and Harold Brock; and sister, Lavergne Mayhew. She is survived by her brothers, Brady Brock of Moultrie, Ga., Joe Brock of Georgia, Howard Brock of Donaldsonville, Ga., Donald Brock of Albany, Ga., and Ronald Brock of Albany, Ga.; sons, Doug (Susan) Young of Murfreesboro and Reuel Young of Murfreesboro; daughters, Marilyn Young Beachboard of Murfreesboro and Sue Young Kersey of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Julie Clark, Andrew Young, Mathew Young, Mollie Young Warrick and Kelsey Young; and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon-2:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at First Presbyterian Church followed by a Church service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Kaye Nickell officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery with friends and family serving as pallbearers.
Family is grateful to the staff at Tennessee State Veterans Home for their compassion and excellent care.
