Happy weekend to all! I don’t know about you, but I sure need one – and especially a beautiful sunny one at that. Mama’s out walking, the dogs aren’t barking, and that gives me a chance to fill you in on what is happening at Murfreesboro Little Theatre.

First up – AUDITIONS – that beautiful yet scary word for the actors amongst us! But have no fear – Todd Seage is one of the best directors in Middle Tennessee, and he is all set to cast our May production – Playboy of the Western World. Of course to cast, we need actors! Todd is looking for 5-6 males (ages 15 and up) and 3-4 females (ages 15 and up) to make his world! And if you are new to the stage (or never been on it), Todd also has additional non-speaking roles in this production – a great chance for you to get your feet wet. For a quick play synopsis, click on this link (you will probably have to press control key and click the link) or visit www.mltarts.com.

Auditions are set for Monday and Tuesday March 1st and 2nd from 6 to 8 pm, with possible call backs on Wednesday March 3rd.

Accelerating into the log cabin on March 19th – How I Learned to Drive, Paula Vogel’s Pulitzer Prize winner! Heart breaking, funny, controversial and timeless – Shane Lowery is in the directing driver’s seat – and for those of you who know Shane, that means he had to put a car on MLT’s stage! That’s right – a car (or at least half of one). Yep – the show is intended for mature audiences – the subject matter is sensitively but honestly handled – and I for one am proud that MLT has tackled this important work. That’s one of the reasons theatre was born – and part of MLT’s mission. The show runs March 19th thru the 28th!

Now – you’d think our April production of Don’t Dress for Dinner is a Mature audience show too – but don’t let the title fool you! A non-stop farce about cheating spouses, mistaken identities and “best laid plans” will have you laughing in your seats and hungry for more! Directed by Sherry Sunday, Don’t Dress for Dinner opens April 16th for two hilarious weekends.

Coming soon:
Auditions for The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas (April)
Auditions for The Mouse that Roared (May)
Playboy of the Western World (opening May 14th)

Find it all on www.MLTARTS.com! What you want find any more is the WATER TOWER! What? Drive by, you’ll see what I mean!

Hope to see you all very, very soon!
