Gay Ensey has been appointed as orthopedic and neurosciences program coordinator at Middle Tennessee Medical Center (MTMC).
Ensey assumed her new position in August and will work with hospital leadership to implement strategic plans and objectives for creating a Center of Excellence for the orthopedics and neurosciences unit at MTMC. Ensey brings more than 30 years of experience in hospital leadership to the orthopedic and neurosciences hospital unit, where she will strive to increase patient volume and satisfaction. In 1980, Ensey became the nurse manager of the pediatrics unit at MTMC where she evaluated and implemented care of the pediatric patients in the unit and maintained high levels of safety, quality and service. In 1987, Ensey transferred to the surgical holding unit and oversaw the preoperative surgical care of patients. While serving as manager of the surgical holding unit, Ensey took the manager position of the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) in 2005 and completed her certification to become a Certified Ambulatory Perianesthesia Nurse (CAPA). Ensey also participated with the MTMC leadership team in 2010 to create a new hospital intake area for all surgery and procedure patients. Ensey obtained her associate’s degree in nursing from Belmont University and received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Middle Tennessee State University. |
