TOWSON, Md. - Middle Tennessee's Jeremy Kellem has been named to the 2010 ESPN Academic All-America Football Second Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Kellem is the fourth academic all-american in school history and the first since Bryan Faulkner was honored in 1991.
Kellem is majoring in Organizational Communication and carries a 3.58 grade point average. He is the only student-athlete from the state of Tennessee or the Sun Belt Conference to be recognized on either the first or second team.
The senior is impressive on the field as well. Entering this weekends game against FAU, Kellem is second in the Sun Belt Conference and tied for 31st nationally with 92 total tackles. The North Lauderdale, Fla., native has put together five straight games with double digit stops.
For his career, Kellem has played in 47 games and earned 40 starts while also earning first team All-SBC honors in 2009.
