Drivers Vular Anderson and Adam P. Brown and Firefighters Ryan Battle and Justin Lewis were recognized for a baby delivery with which they assisted earlier this year.
The crew assisted with the delivery of the baby, freed the nuchal cord from the baby’s neck, and assisted Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services with patient care of the mother.
‚ÄúMurfreesboro is fortunate to have employees that are so caring, responsive, and courteous,‚ÄĚ said Shannon Logan, Assistant to the Assistant City Manager and Coordinator of the STARS Program. ‚ÄúWhat the STARS Committee was really impressed with was that the crew worked together to make sure both the baby and the mother were well taken care of. We‚Äôre proud to work with such conscientious, respectful co-workers that want to take care of people. Our men and women of the Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department face tough situations every day. We are proud of them for facing these situations with such compassion.‚ÄĚ
Mayor Shane McFarland presented the four with a certificate. Each recipient received a check for $25.00 and will also receive vacation leave.
The STARS award program was implemented in 2012 to recognize and reward employees who embody the City’s standards for Service Excellence and exemplify core values. The City depends on the work of its valuable employees every day to provide all its services to the citizens.
