Metro Police sergeant charged with soliciting minor | CRIME

Sgt. Michael William Dioguardi
A Metro Nashville Police officer was charged Friday with soliciting a minor for sexual contact and providing obscene material to a minor by a Rutherford County Sheriff’s detective.

Patrol Sgt. Michael William Dioguardi, 41, of Nashville was charged with one count each of soliciting a minor to engage in sexual activity and providing obscene material to a minor, said Detective Mickey McCullough. More charges against Dioguardi may be pending.

Dioguardi was accused of trying to solicit a 14-year-old girl and providing the material to her during a 2-1/2-month investigation, the detective said.

A search warrant was served for Dioguardi’s home to obtain evidence. McCullough, his partner Andrea Knox, and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Agent Jason Wilkerson, searched the residence.

Metro Nashville Police spokesman Don Aaron reported in a press release Dioguardi has been decommissioned and placed on administrative leave following his arrest.

Dioguardi, a 13-year police department veteran, was taken into custody after being summoned to police headquarters from his home. Dioguardi was taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center for booking with bail set at $40,000.

He is scheduled to answer the charges Sept. 10 in General Sessions Court.

Dioguardi worked the evening shift in the East Precinct. As a result of Friday’s arrest, the police department’s Office of Professional Accountability is beginning an administrative investigation of Dioguardi.

“I was surprised and saddened when I learned of this matter on Thursday,” Chief Ronal Serpas said. “These allegations are very serious and Sgt. Dioguardi has been ordered to stay away from Metro Police Department facilities while the administrative and criminal investigations continue. I am told by Rutherford County authorities that this case is specific to Dioguardi and that no other Metro Police Department employees are involved.”

Might as well get ready to see him walk on a plea in Rutherford County.Probably littering or something equal to that.I know you can be charged with att rape and agg criminal trespassing and walk on only attempted trespass if the victim doesn't know the legal process and your daddy knows the judge.Wonder if Truman signed him out with no bail too???Maybe he'll help him with his paperwork to get off the SOR.
