Citizens who recognize the men are asked to call Detective Steve Brown at 904-3052 as soon as possible.
Two men were captured on videotape breaking into W.T.’s Market about 1:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 21 at the store at 2911 New Salem Highway, sheriff’s deputies reported.

One of the men wore distinctive white Nike shoes with black soles seen when he jumped over the counter.

Citizens who recognize the man wearing the shoes are asked to call Detective Steve Brown at 904-3052 as soon as possible.

Deputy Mark Barnes reported he responded to an alarm at the store. When he arrived, he found the front glass doors shattered.

Owner Wendell Jones confirmed 31 cartons of cigarettes were missing from the store, the deputy reported. Value was set at $930.

The videotaped surveillance showed one man entering the store and jumping over the counter. A short time later, he carried out a cardboard box full of cigarettes. His companion exited with a black trash bag full of cigarettes.

The first man wore a white hoodie, blue jeans and white Nike shoes with black soles. A cloth was wrapped around his face. The second man wore a gray sweatshirt, khaki pants and black shoes. He wore a black knit cap pulled down over his face.

Brown said no vehicles were seen. No leads or suspects have been developed yet so people who have information are asked to call Brown.
