The Memorial Boulevard Publix Store will close for business at 7 p.m. on Christmas Eve.

“The store will close because sales goals are not being met,” spokeswoman Brenda Reid explained about the store near Northfield Boulevard.

The store was part of Red Food when Publix took it over. Since Pubix has opened a new store on Memorial, contributing to the decision to close the older location.

All other Rutherford County Publix Stores will remain open.

How about a big sale on non-perishables? I would buy a bag or case of stuff to be donated through the store to the food bank.

Talked to the manager before Christmas and was disappointed but understand. I've shopped there since it opened and will miss the wonderful folks that have so graciously served me. I'm sure the VA store will be just as customer oriented. They are just tops.
