| As part of the “March for Meals” campaign, Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency’s Meals on Wheels program announced that it will hold open houses in each of its 19 sites from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, March 3. Individuals and businesses are encouraged to visit their local meal site to join together in support of the community’s senior citizens. “Each week several senior citizens are delayed services from Meals on Wheels due to the lack of funding needed to provide the meal. We serve more than 1,400 meals Monday-Friday, but this barley scratches the surface of those in need,” Regional Coordinator Cheryl Lisi said. Information will be available regarding Meals on Wheels’ mission. Additionally attendees will be able to witness the amazing work being done and the needs yet not meant.
