The field of candidates for Director of Murfreesboro City Schools will be narrowed down this week.
The Murfreesboro City Board of Education will winnow the 19 hopefuls to the top three Tuesday afternoon, interview those candidates and announce the two finalists by Saturday.
The board meets Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings to interview the top three and will announce the two finalists Saturday morning.
Locals MTSU education professor Linda Gilbert and Scales Elementary Principal Catherine Stephens hope to fill the seat vacated by Marilyn Mathis in October.
