Pam East welcomes Dr. Lela Bridges (from left) to Murfreesboro at a reception held Wednesday afternoon at John Pittard Elementary.

Bridges is one of two finalists for director of Murfreesboro City Schools. The post became open after Marilyn Mathis retired in October.

Brdiges was interviewed for the job Wednesday night. The other candidate Dr. Linda Gilbert, who is an education professor at MTSU, was interviewed Tuesday night.

The school board is expected to announce its decision at a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night at MCS Central Office on South Church Street.
