Maxine Ruth Elmore, age 80, of Murfreesboro, passed away September 2, 2012 at her residence.

She was a native of Indianapolis, Indiana but lived in Rutherford County for over 49 years. Maxine was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and worked as a Medical Transcriber.
 
Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, James and Adeline Ruffin; and son, Christopher Edmore. She is survived by her husband, Robert Elmore of Murfreesboro; daughters, Michelle Elmore and Melinda (Tommy) Hand both of Murfreesboro; sister, Christina Rose of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren, Arthur Hand, Jeffrey Hand and Dawn Sheppard; 7 great-grandchildren, Noah Hand, Willow Johnson, Alysha Hand, Caressa Hand, Christina Snoddy, Jasmine Sheppard and Tara; and 2 great-great grandchildren, Aubrey Hand and Abby Grace.
 
Visitation with the family will be held from 5:30 p.m. until service time. Chapel Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2012 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Michael Waldrip officiating.
