Mattie Flora Maxwell Haynes, age 84, of Rockvale, died Saturday, January 2, 2010. She was a native of Rockvale and daughter of the late William L. and Mattie Hayes Maxwell, Sr.
Funeral service will be 11 .m. Tuesday at Rockvale Church of God. Rev. Morgan Davis and Rev. Bobby Maxwell will officiate. Burial will be in the Cothran Cemetery.
Mrs. Haynes is survived by her son, David Haynes of Eagleville, daughter, Karen (Carl) Hollis of Murfreesboro, sisters, Anna Middleton of Donelson, Evelyn Writesman of Nashville, and Florence Wheeler of Murfreesboro, brother, Bob Maxwell of Murfreesboro, four grandchildren, DJ Haynes, Alicia Riley, Sarah and Matthew Hollis, three great grandchildren, Isaac and Cannon Haynes, Jaxson Riley.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George J. “Jack” Haynes, grand daughter, Julie Hollis, sister, Julia Fisher, and brothers, W. L. Maxwell, Jr, and Homer Maxwell.
Mrs. Haynes was a member of the Rockvale Church of God, a graduate of Rockvale School, and was former bookkeeper for Harrison and Alexander of Murfreesboro. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Memorials may be made to Rockvale Church of God in memory of Mrs. Haynes.
