Director of Schools Harry Gill has named Mary Jo Yeager the new principal of Daniel-McKee Alternative School.
“Mary Jo is well respected in the district,” Gill said. “She has administration experience at both the middle and high school levels and has some great ideas for Daniel-McKee.”
Yeager has served as an assistant principal for the past five years at Smyrna Middle School. Previously, she was an assistant principal at Oakland High School for 17 years and taught math for two years at Riverdale. In all, she has 33 years of experience as an educator.
“I want to institute Service Learning so students can develop team building and problem solving skills,” Yeager said of her immediate plans. “I’m looking forward to working with the faculty to help the program grow at Daniel McKee.”
