Brown was born in Wallaceville, GA to the late Thomas and Sarah Brown. He was a member of World Outreach Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army and was a mason. He began singing in the gospel group The New Life Trio and then was a member of The Victors Gospel Group.

Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean Brown, brothers, Samuel and John Brown. He is survived by his daughters, Vicki (Henry) Weber of Windsor, PA; Linda (Michael) Higgins of Murfreesboro; Jeannie (Joe) Thompson of Murfreesboro; 7 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Galbreath of Nashville; Laura Lippert of Stevensville, MI; brother, Willard Brown of Manchester.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 12, 2011 from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be Thursday, May 12, 2011 at 6:00pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Burial will be Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Maryland National Memorial Park in Laurel, MD.
