The intersection of Maney Avenue and Vine Street in downtown Murfreesboro will be closed to traffic starting Monday and is scheduled to reopen Dec. 15.
The closure is part of the Maney Avenue redesign project, which is intended to improve storm water drainage in the area and also the appearance of the street.
This closure is needed to relocate utility lines at the intersection.
“The goal of this closure is to get all the (utility) crossings in place in a condensed amount of time” said Mike Stacey, inspector for the Murfreesboro Public Works Department, in a letter to residents.
Local businesses will continue to be open during the intersection closure.
