One man suffered serious injuries when he was driving in the wrong lane and struck a truck early Saturday on South Church Street, Murfreesboro Police reported Monday.

Driver Scott Jasper, 30, of Dollar Lane in Smyrna suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash about 3:25 a.m. near County Farm Road, reported police spokesman Kyle Evans.

Paramedics took him to Middle Tennessee Medical Center before he was transferred to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he was listed in stable condition Monday.

Jasper was driving a 2008 Kia Spectra north in the southbound lanes when he collided head-on with a Dodge Ram truck driven south by James E. Satterwhite Jr., 45, of Crescent Road, Evans reported. Satterwhite was treated for minor injuries at MTMC and later released.

The Fatal Accident Crash Team is investigating the collision.
