Man struck with pipe in motel robbery

Officers responded to a robbery Thursday, June 24, at the Imperial Inn on N.W. Broad Street.

The victim, James Harris, told police that two black males knocked at the door to his motel room asking for a cigarette and to use the phone.

Harris told police the suspect refused the cigarette because of the brand while the other suspect walked into the room and bound Harris hands with a plastic chord.

The suspecst allegedly punched Harris multiple times and told him, “here’s your warning.” The two then reportedly struck Harris with a metal pipe and took his wallet.

Police report that the suspects were seen leaving in an older model, faded red, four door cavalier type vehicle.

One suspect appeared to be 22 to 25 years old and roughly 6 feet 1 inch tall with short hair and facial hair with tattoos on his right arm, the other was roughly 5 feet 11 inches tall and 250 pounds with and afro and a tattoo on his neck.
