One man became angry because his neighbor wouldn’t give him a ride to the library so he allegedly beat one woman and stabbed another woman Tuesday at Stone Creek Apartments, Murfreesboro Police reported.

Suspect Robert T. Fish, 54, of Bradyville Pike was charged with two counts of aggravated assault of neighbors Angela Lambert and Joy Lytle, Detective Wayne Lawson reported.

Officer Michael Levy reported Fish knocked on Lytle’s apartment and asked Lambert for a ride to the library and she refused. Fish attempted to open Joy’s apartment door three times before Lambert told him to stop.

“Ms. Lambert stated Mr. Fish then pushed her and she pushed him back and punched him three to four times in the head,” Levy reported. “Fish then grabbed her by the hair and hit her head against the wall outside the apartment.”

He left. She waited about five minutes before coming back outside to find Fish brandishing a knife and threatening her, the officer reported.

Fish allegedly stabbed Lambert in the left side of her neck, Levy reported. When Lytle tried to break up the fight, she was stabbed in the finger.

Lawson interviewed Fish and the two women before charging him with assault. Detective Lt. Nathan McDaniel said patrol officers recovered the steak knife. A hearing is pending for Fish in General Sessions Court.
