One man who refused to sell drugs to another man was instead robbed and assaulted Monday on Wedgewood Street, Murfreesboro Police reported.
Victim Joseph Stevens, 21, of Shelbyville and suspect Charles Anthony Fish were discussing drugs but Stevens wouldn’t sell illegal drugs to him, Officer Michele Ratleph reported. Smith got mad and punched Stevens in the face.
Fish reached into Stevens’ pocket and stole a $5 bill and his cigarettes, the officer reported.
Officer Sean Garrison located Fish who gave a statement about the robbery. Police obtained Stevens’ property from him.
Stevens was treated for his injuries at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
Ratleph charged Fish with strong-arm robbery. He was booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where bon was set at $3,500. His hearing is set Feb. 9 in General Sessions Court.
