One man accused of raping a 6-year-old girl was indicted on charges of child rape, aggravated sexual battery and incest, a sheriff’s detective said. Defendant Freeman Ray Harrison Jr., 51, of Waverly, was indicted by the grand jury after an investigation by Detective Mickey McCullough. “The investigation was initiated in the city limits of Murfreesboro” in October, McCullough said. McCullough presented evidence before the grand jurors who issued the three indictments earlier this month. Harrison was charged Tuesday then booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center where he is being held on a $1 million bond. Harrison is scheduled to receive copies of his indictments next Friday from Circuit Court Judge David Bragg. He is a truck driver.
