A 3-year-old child suffered bleeding to his eyes, genital injuries and acute bruising believed inflicted by an adult in May, a Murfreesboro Detective reported.

Grand jurors indicted suspect Matthew B. Graham, 26, of 1815 Lexington Trace on two counts of aggravated child abuse of the 3-year-old.

Detective Tommy Roberts reported his investigation showed the child suffered bleeding to his brain and bleeding to his eye, injuries consistent with blunt force and bruising.

“The victim also sustained injuries to the genital area along with other miscellaneous injuries,” Roberts reported.

Police spokesman Maj. Clyde Adkison reported the relationship between Graham and the child was undisclosed.

Graham was booked Tuesday into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. His is scheduled to receive copies of his indictment Monday, May 21 in Circuit Court.
