Andrew Kraft, 43, had been asked to leave Room in the Inn Thursday, Nov. 25 after animal, child and adult pornography was discovered on his cell phone.

Kraft was packing his belongings when MPD officer Tamara Jensen arrived at the homeless shelter.

“I asked if I could see his phone and he allowed me to view,” Jensen reported, “where there were hundreds of porn pictures in his phone.”

Kraft then asked if he could delete the images and leave the shelter.

“When I said no, he stood in front of my video camera and tried to kill himself with a trash bag around his neck,” Jensen said.

As Kraft’s face began to darken from lack of oxygen, Jensen stepped in and called for an ambulance.

Kraft was transported to the Alvin C. York Veterans Administration for a mental evaluation.
