Man armed with shotgun robs three store clerks

One bandit armed with a shotgun robbed three clerks at a convenience store about 6:10 p.m. Monday on Northwest Broad Street, Murfreesboro Police reported.

The robber demanded money from Quick Stop Market clerk Hitendra Patel, demanding all the large bills before grabbing the cash drawer out of the register, police reported. He ordered clerks Denton Peters and David Lawlor to give him their money. Both handed over the cash.

Witnesses described the suspect as a black man about 6-feet tall. He wore a red bandana.

People who have information about the robbery may call the Criminal Investigations Division at 893-2717 or Crime Stoppers between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Don't need one for a shotgun. He was a law abiding citizen up until he pointed the gun at the clerks.

anybody noticing the increase in crime in the downtown-ish area lately? from craigslist posers to MTSU muggers to flat out store robbers. Can't help but think these are somehow connected.
