Man accused of scaring ex-wife with shotgun | Ronnie Fleming, domestic assault

Ronnie Fleming
Fear for her life gripped a woman when her ex-husband racked a shotgun and walked toward her Wednesday morning at the home they share in Christiana, a sheriff’s deputy reported.

Wife Ada Fleming of Rucker-Christiana Road believed the shotgun was loaded and feared husband Ronnie Fleming, Deputy Teresa Reed reported.

“She wrestled with him to retrieve the gun” then fell to the floor, the deputy reported. She complained of pain to her side from the fall. Her grandson grabbed the gun.

Reed charged Ronnie Fleming, 59, with aggravated domestic assault of his ex-wife.

The ex-husband told Reed he awoke to complain about the lack of heat and her unfaithfulness 15 years ago. He cursed his ex-wife and grabbed the shotgun to scare her.

“I could tell she was in fear for her safety,” Reed reported. “She had been crying and was shaking all over.”

Reed charged him with aggravated domestic assault and booked him into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing was set March 24 in General Sessions Court.
