A man accused of raping a 10-year-old girl three times and fondling her was charged Wednesday, a Murfreesboro Police detective reported.
Suspect Jason Holt, 19, of 320 Villa St. was charged with three counts of rape of a child and aggravated sexual battery by Detective Tommy Roberts.
Roberts received a referral from the Department of Children’s Services about a 10-year-old girl having sex with a 19-year-old friend, the detective reported. He interviewed the girl at her elementary school.
“She did disclose having sex with a 19-year-old named Jason,” Roberts reported. “Investigation showed the suspect to be Jason Holt.”
Roberts interviewed Holt who gave a statement. He was charged and booked into Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. A hearing is set June 11 in General Sessions Court.
Police spokesman Kyle Evans said Holt and the girl were not related.
“We’re investigating the possibility of more victims,” Evans said.
