Luther George Martin, 71, of Murfreesboro, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012.

Previously of Watertown, Tenn., the DeKalb County native was the son of the late George Herman Martin and Mozell Waggoner Martin.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Aug. 25, at 2 p.m. at Woodfin Memorial Chapel in Murfreesboro. Elder Sue Hutchinson and Elder Glenn Grisham will officiate. Burial will follow in Jones Hill Cemetery in Watertown.

Mr. Martin is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Serita Kerr Martin; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa and Ron Reece, and two grandchildren, Aaron and Evan Reece, all of Murfreesboro.

Mr. Martin was a member of Temperance Hall Pentecostal Church in Lancaster, Tenn. He was a graduate of DeKalb County High School. Mr. Martin served in the U.S. Air Force and was a retired sales representative with Waste Management.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation with the family will be held Friday, Aug. 24, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Woodfine Memorial Chapel.
