Middle Tennessee Medical Center is hosting a roundtable discussion and luncheon with Dr. Allison Puckett, a board-certified family medicine physician with Middle Tennessee Medical Group, who will discuss how to prevent and treat osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis can affect the knees, hands, hips, neck or lower back.

One of its telltale symptoms is joint pain that appears after activity and then fades with rest.

While this disease can develop at any age, it usually affects people age 45 and older, however cartilage wear is not inevitable with increasing age. Other risk factors include weight, congenital problems, joint injuries, genetics and bone density.

The roundtable will be held Dec. 1 at 11 a.m. at MTMC’s new location, 1700 Medical Center Parkway. To RSVP call (615) 396-5556 or email erin.yeldell@mtmc.org.
