Lonnie “Doc” Holladay, age 74, passed away on December 3, 2011 at his residence. He was a native of Danville, IL but lived most of his life in Rutherford County. He was a 2nd Lt in the 1st Armored Division out of Fort Knox. Lionel was a member of Hillview Baptist Church, the Rutherford County Rescue Squad, Civil Defense, the FOP and the Sons of Confederate Veterans. He retired from the Rutherford County corrections department. Lonnie is preceded in death by his parents, George Eulan and Violet Holladay; and sister, Helen Hughes. He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Dorothy Jean Holladay of Murfreesboro, sons; Bubba (Amy) Holladay of Lascassas and Samuel Buford Holladay of Murfreesboro; daughter, Lisa Holladay (Ronnie) Richards of Deland, FL; brother, John Brent of Brentwood, TN; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. A chapel service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Jennings and Ayers Chapel with Jimmy Tyson officiating. Burial will follow at Triune Cemetery with Rick Sanders, Freddie Foe, Eric Foe, Clinton Holladay, Jason Richards and John Brent Holladay II serving as active pallbearers. The visitation with the family will be held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Jennings and Ayers Funeral Home; 820 S.
