Can you picture this?
It’s a fall photography contest for the public, including children, sponsored by Friends of Long Hunter State Park.
Here’s the “focus.”
“Images of nature, including beautiful landscapes, deer, turkey, flowers and sunsets, are eligible. In other words, the sky is the limit as long as the pictures are taken within the park, including the Bryant’s Grove beach area that sits in Rutherford and Wilson counties,” confirmed Friends President Becky Litchford of Mt. Juliet.
Age groups for the contest include ages 12 and under, ages 13-19 and ages 20 and over. Deadline for submitting unframed color and black white photographs is Nov. 14 at the park office located at 2910 Hobson Pike.
“We’re sponsoring this to encourage families, civic and church groups to bring young people out to the park to see the majestic scenes, including bald eagles, blue herons and osprey that have taken up residence at the park,” pictured Litchford. “Winning photos will be announced Dec. 12 at the park.”
Rules include prints only, as in no frames or mats, Litchford noted. Pictures can be no smaller than 8 by 10, no larger than 8 by 12.
“Amateurs and professionals are welcomed, but professional photography will be on display only, not in the competition,” she added.
