Loese Kingsley Grisham, age 85 of Smyrna, TN, went home to be with the Jesus on Saturday February 1, 2014. Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Ira and Alma Maybry Kingsley.  Mrs. Grisham was also preceded in death by a son, Dan “Animal” Grisham, brother Dickie Kingsley and several aunts and uncles.

Mrs. Grisham is survived by her husband of 63 years, Earl E. Grisham, brothers, Tony and Mike Kingsley both of Columbia, SC, sisters, Lynn Kingsley Davis and Gladys Kingsley Ballinger both of Spartanburg, SC, daughter in law, Kathy Grisham of Smyrna, TN, granddaughter, Jessica Lavender and her husband Nick, of LaVergne, TN, and great granddaughters Layla and Annabel Lavender both of LaVergne, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Grisham was an active member of Stones River Baptist Church of Smyrna since 1965. She served as Treasurer and volunteer secretary, head of the Kitchen Committee and was a member of the Pulpit Committee and Prayer Shawl Ministry.

Mrs. Grisham was a great asset to the Smyrna Senior Citizens Center, where she served as Treasurer for several years and brought great enjoyment to members with her beautiful singing. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Center.

While residing at Andrews Air Force Base, she worked for the Red Cross when prisoners of war returned from Vietnam, and had the privilege of being with them on the SS Sequoia.
In Smyrna, she was the secretary to the Hospital Commander at Sewart Air Force Base, with service to eleven doctors.  While in Amarillo, TX, she was secretary to the Adjutant General.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday at Stones River Baptist Church with Revs. Oscar White, Barney Rickman, and Ross Maroney officiating. Burial will follow in Mapleview Cemetery, with Doyle Clark, Leon Hogg, Steve Douglas, Billy “Skip” Smith, William “Nick” Lavender, Richard Wight, D. W. Robinson, and Jack Miller serving as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Smyrna Senior Citizens Center, Stones River Baptist Church or the Gideons International in memory of Mrs. Grisham.

Visitation will be at Stones River Baptist Church from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday and from 10:00 AM until time of service on Tuesday. Online condolences may be made at www.woodfinchapel.com. WOODFIN CHAPEL, SMYRNA, 615-459-3254.
