Middle Tennessee Medical Center emergency department nurse, Clint Latham, RN, recently received the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Award in the category of Emergency & Ambulatory Care at the March of Dimes inaugural awards ceremony.
Latham was chosen for his excitement for nursing and the special attention he provides to patients, families and coworkers. “Clint is a great asset to the emergency department and the patients he serves,” said Monty Gooch, director of nursing for emergency services at MTMC. “He not only posses superior clinical knowledge, but he represents our values through his actions and kindness. It is an absolute privilege to work with Clint and be in his presence as he affects us all with a caring heart.” Latham has worked as a registered nurse at MTMC for 2 ½ years and was the recipient of the hospital’s 2010 Nurse Excellence Rising Star award for his enthusiasm and growth in his nursing profession. The March of Dimes Nurse of the Year award ceremony was held on Dec. 9 at Franklin Marriott in Cool Springs.
The Nurse of the Year Selection Committee reviewed applications across 13 categories ranging from Women’s Health and Pediatrics to Emergency and Oncology disciplines.
More than 75 nominees emerged, all representing the March of Dimes vision for a healthier, stronger generation of babies and families.
