The Middle Tennessee Medical Center (MTMC) breast cancer survivors support group will feature guest speaker Maryann Makekau, who is author of the Little Pink Book series, at its  meeting from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The group, which meets at MTMC in Room B, is free and open to survivors of all ages and stages.
 
Growing up, children must sometimes face difficult and sad times, including when a family member or significant person in their life is diagnosed with cancer. Makekau’s books offer a clear, fresh perspective on cancer issues, tailored to the needs of children. Books in the series include When Your Mom Has Cancer and When Your Teacher Has Cancer. Sales of Little Pink Books benefit breast cancer research and organizations that help families cope.
 
The breast cancer support group is led by Dr. Rebecca Baskin, a breast surgeon with Tennessee Breast Specialists at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
