Because of the tremendous demand for tickets, the Arts Center of Cannon County has added three additional matinee performances to Disney’s "The Little Mermaid Jr." on Saturday, Feb. 16, and Feb. 23, as well as Sunday, Feb. 24.

There is still some limited availability for the 7:30 p.m. performances on Friday, Feb. 15 and Feb. 16.

The show, which opened Friday, takes the audience "under the sea" with Ariel (Rachel Nichols), a young mermaid who longs to leave her ocean home for the world above, in "The Little Mermaid Jr."

But first, she will have to defy her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she is the girl with the enchanting voice.

Directed by Cody Rutledge and produced by Darryl Deason, this production features a double cast of more than 40 young actors representing communities throughout the Middle Tennessee area.

The performance schedule for all shows is Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m.

The Arts Center is located at 1424 John Bragg Highway, just west of the town of Woodbury.
